When will BPI discontinue the issuance of the Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards?

BPI will discontinue the issuance of the physical Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards starting May 23, 2022.

What types of Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards will BPI discontinue issuance?

The following physical Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards will no longer be issued:

BPI ePay Mastercard
BPI ePay Visa
BPI ePay Gift

Who will be affected by the discontinued issuance of Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards?

All clients with Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards that are planning to avail of a new Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards or have a card replacement will be affected starting May 23, 2022.

Can I still use my Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card (ePay Mastercard, ePay Visa and ePay Gift Card) in ATMs, POS and Online?

Yes, you may continue using your Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards until its expiry date.

My current Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card will expire soon. Can I still avail of a new Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card?

Yes, you can still avail of a Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card until May 22, 2022.

What product can you suggest instead of a Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card that would still allow me to withdraw my funds, and allow me to do purchases in-store and online?

If you are an existing BPI Depositor:

• Depositor with a Card-based Account – You may use your existing BPI Debit Mastercard which has similar features to your Prepaid Card such as withdrawals at the ATM, purchases in-store and purchases online.  If you wish to have a separate account, you may visit any BPI branch to open a new Deposit Account with a new BPI Debit Mastercard.

• Depositor with a Non-Card-base Account – you may visit any BPI branch to open a new Deposit Account with a new BPI Debit Mastercard.

If you are not an existing BPI Depositor:

• Open a #SaveUp Account via the BPI Mobile app and you can request for a BPI Debit Mastercard at any BPI branch once you have opened your account online with a fee.

I do not intend to replace my Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card with any BPI product, however, I still have remaining funds. How can I access my remaining funds?

You may go to any BPI branch and request for a Manager's Cheque and claim your remaining funds.

I currently have a Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card and I want to have it replaced (e.g, damaged card, lost card, and or expired) will I be issued the same type of Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card?

We can still replace your Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Card with the same card variant until May 22, 2022. Beyond this date, the Bank will discontinue issuing Retail (Physical) BPI Prepaid Cards. Here are the options you can explore based on our available products:

I am an existing BPI Depositor, here are my options:

• If you have any Card-Based Deposit Account– You may use your existing BPI Debit Mastercard which has similar features to your Prepaid Card such as withdrawals at the ATM, purchases in-store and online.

• If you wish to have a separate account, we can open you a new Deposit Account and issue you a BPI Debit Mastercard.

• If you only have Non-Card-Based Deposit Account – Open a Deposit Account at your nearest branch or in the BPI Mobile App and get a BPI Debit Mastercard.

I am not an existing BPI Depositor, here is your option:
• Open a #SaveUp Account via the BPI Mobile app and you can request for a BPI Debit Mastercard at your nearest BPI branch once you have opened your account online with a fee.

What are the features of a BPI Debit Mastercard?

The following features of a BPI Debit Mastercard:
BPI Card Control – Customizable withdrawal and purchase limits. Clients can enable and disable their card’s international and e-commerce access, and temporarily and permanently block their card via BPI Online/Mobile app
One-Time PIN – A unique code will be sent to the client's registered mobile number to confirm their online transactions and card adjustments.
6-Digit PIN – It helps to increase client’s password strength so they can be assured of stronger security.
Account Linking – Clients can easily access their other card-based deposit accounts in just one card.
International Debit Acceptance – Clients can use their card at point-of-sale (POS) terminals and ATMs abroad.
E-Commerce – Clients can pay for online purchases and services wherever Mastercard is accepted.
